WOLF news

the "wolf" project, a collaboration between tom neely and house of low culture is well underway. the end result of the project will be a full length wordless/pictorial novel by tom with an accompanying "soundtrack" by HOLC. as of this writing the art 3 of the 4 chapters is complete (or very near completion), and the musical portion of chapter 1 is also finished. there is no set release date just yet, but we hope to have all the parts finished by early summer with the goal of an autumn release for the final piece. there may be a short run publication in some format of the first chapter (both music and print) as an introductory presentation for the project - when that becomes a reality specifics will certainly be posted here and/or tom neely's page. in the meantime you can take a gander at a couple images from the first chapter (above) as well as a timelapse video of tom inking a page with accompanying music by HOLC (an older track from the second album, originally released in 2003). we'll have a proper "preview" ready soon including music actually generated for the book.

also - now available via the hydra head webstore are the vinyl versions of mamiffer "hirror enniffer" and lotus eaters "mind control for infants".

recent positive absorbtion: joe sacco "footnotes in gaza", azrael "act IV", oren ambarchi - live, knut "wonder", ephal duath "pain necessary to know", ondskapt "draco sit mihi dux", baroness - live, new zealand....

Thanks so much for playing the Manning Bar the other night man. Had an amazing experience, multitudes better sound than the Metro last time you visited... And a stunning range of merch to wallow in! Very grateful indeed.

Lucky are you to see Mr. Ambarchi live. I bet New Zealand is nice, I've always wanted to go there.

Would just like to say thank you for coming out to Brisbane. I haven't had the chance to see you guys in Austraila before, being as I've only been a fan/ known about you guys for 3 and a bit years. I was at the HiFi and Soundwave events right up front (sporting an ISIS shirt the first night) for the best view ! You guys played great at both shows and hopefully you'll be back in the future! I was hoping to see a rendition of weight, but was overall very pleased with the shows - the HiFi show in particular, which was extremely cheap.

Cheers.

Since there is no other place in the web where I can ask, so here are my two questions: When can we expect something new from Old Man Gloom? And, are you (as the whole OMG of course) planning any re-editions of Christmas and Meditaions in B? I'm asking because it is probably impossible to get those recrods in Europe (was hard to find Seminar II and III on LPs, but somehow I made it ;)).
Cheers from Poland

I was recently at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and I saw this piece:

The artist is Tony Tasset and when I saw it I was instantly reminded of this post you made. I love the convergences that happen in art.
