i like the "less is more" approach, its certainly an interesting pattern; it kind of looks like hands slyly interacting, bribing each other, if you will. it's got a certain aztec quality too, what i'm trying to say is that i think its cool.
I'm not sure if its meant to be intentional but the layout of the text below the image seems like the artwork to unknown pleasures by joy division, is it a homage? But as a composition it works really well!
I love the slight gradient work in there. Its subtle enough to noted but not noticed on first glance. Know what I mean? You see it. Your eyes register it. But, you don't think about it till a couple seconds later. The entire design is wonderfully unassuming and subtle yet very eye catching.

Call me silly, but it seems somewhat Escher-esque. I like it!
